Support for wellbeing and change
Psychologists can help with anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment to disability or illness, and building strategies for everyday life.
Through the NDIS, psychology is often funded under Improved Daily Living or Improved Relationships. It can also be accessed privately or through a Mental Health Treatment Plan.
- Assessments and reports
- Individual therapy
- Strategies shared with support workers
- Family and carer support

Therapy that carries into daily life
When psychologists and support workers work together, strategies are practised between sessions. Support Network makes it easier to share goals and observations with the people who support you every day.

Psychology questions
Can I use NDIS funding for a psychologist?
Often yes, under capacity building supports, if it relates to your disability and plan goals.
Do I need a referral?
Not for NDIS-funded or private sessions. A GP referral is needed for Medicare rebates.
Is telehealth available?
Many psychologists offer telehealth as well as in-person sessions.
